Often painted by Lucian Freud, the Zimmerlinde or House Lime is an evergreen shrub which will thrive in a bright indirect light. It will fast grow into a small tree with pale downy leaves. Compost must be kept moist at all times and the plant should be kept in a well ventilated but draught-free spot. Mist the leaves occasionally and water regularly in the summer but reduce humidity and watering in the winter months, gradually increasing as spring approaches and the House Lime flowers.
